Autonity’s Tiber Challenge: Pioneering the Piccadilly Testnet
Tomorrow, 13th December marks an exciting milestone in Autonity’s journey with the launch of the Piccadilly Tiber Challenge. Following the success of the Piccadilly Circus Games Competition, this incentivized challenge is the next step leading up to the Mainnet launch phase of Autonity’s evolution. Here’s everything you need to know to dive in and get started.
Introducing the Piccadilly Tiber Challenge
The Piccadilly Tiber Challenge brings together participants to engage with Autonity’s Piccadilly Testnet. With the recent upgrade to the Tiber protocol (v1 Autonity Protocol), this challenge offers two categories of activity:
- Use-case Testing: Submit transactions and interact with Autonity’s Protocol interfaces.
- Oracle Calibration Testing: Run a validator node and contribute to the accuracy of price reporting within the network.
The Tiber Challenge is open to all, and enrollment is automatic. Scoring is determined by querying on-chain data associated with your registered participant address. No off-chain registration details are required beyond signing up with your participant address.
Get Started: Sign-Up and Setup
To participate in the Tiber Challenge, follow these steps:
Sign-Up
Complete the registration form at Tiber Registration. Upon registration, your participant address will be funded with the following:
Asset | Amount |
---|---|
ATN on Piccadilly | 1 |
NTN on Piccadilly | 0 |
Test USDCx | 1000 |
Test USDC | 25 |
Test POL | 0.01 |
These resources will help you get started immediately, including trading in the Uniswap V2 AMM and bridging USDC from Polygon Amoy Testnet to Piccadilly.
Setup
For Use-case Testing: Install the Tiber Challenge starter kit and configure it with your registered participant address. The kit provides pre-built transaction calls to Autonity Protocol functions.
For Oracle Calibration Testing: Install the Autonity main client and oracle server, set up a validator node, and register your validator using your participant address. Your validator needs to be part of the consensus committee to score. With these steps completed, you’ll be ready to engage in Tiber Challenge tasks.
Tiber Challenge Tasks
The challenge consists of two task categories designed to test and improve the Piccadilly Testnet ecosystem.
1. Use-case Testing
This activity focuses on interacting with the Autonity Protocol through its contract interfaces. Points are awarded based on:
- The range of interface functions called.
- The variety and randomness of transaction patterns.
Increase your score by extending the starter kit to call additional Autonity Contract Interface functions and interacting with the USDC Bridge and AMM. A wide range of interface calls and diverse transaction patterns will help you maximize your points.
2. Oracle Calibration Testing
Participants operating a validator node will engage in Oracle Calibration Testing when their validator is part of the consensus committee. Points are awarded based on:
- Accuracy of price reports submitted by your validator.
- Active participation in the consensus committee.
- Submission of the Midterm Feedback Report, detailing your oracle configuration.
A midterm research report will provide insights into system performance, allowing participants to refine their configurations for the second half of the challenge. A final report will summarize findings and offer best-practice recommendations.
Rewards
The Tiber Challenge boasts an award budget of 150,000 Award Tributes, convertible to NTN upon Mainnet launch. The budget is split evenly between the two task categories:
- 75,000 Award Tributes for Use-case Testing.
- 75,000 Award Tributes for Oracle Calibration Testing.
Tributes will be distributed pro-rata based on participants’ scores in each category.
Connect with the Community
The core contributors at Autonity have been working tirelessly to bring this upgrade to the wider community. The Tiber protocol represents a significant milestone, and these final stages of testing will lead us into the home stretch toward Mainnet genesis. The contributors are excited to launch initial use cases on Autonity Mainnet and look forward to your participation in shaping the future of decentralized derivatives.
